The sign is a lie!

We drove to Mallabula to walk around looking for koalas.  This sign made it seem like they would be all over the place but this was not the case.  We found a lot of mosquitos but no koalas.  We came to the conclusion that there are no wild koalas and it’s all a scam to get tourism to the area.  Clearly, all the koalas have been trapped and sold to zoos around the world.

The kangaroos you always hear about are real though.  We saw some in the Hunter Valley chilling in a field.

By the way, if you go to Nelson Bay, eat at the Wharf Restaurant upstairs from the fish market.  It looks like a run down mess from the outside but inside is nice and the food is GREAT.  In big letters.  GREAT.

The spider is a lie « Monique and Justin’s Travels

[...] In Sydney, there were spiders everywhere.  Everyone told us we were going to need to get use to it because they’re all over the place.  But since we’ve left Sydney, we’ve barely seen any.  Even driving through the rainforests on Fraser Island and in North Queensland we barely saw any.  Sort of the same running gag as the koalas.
